Dr Beavers earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, and is still a proud Georgia Dawg! Her medical doctorate and doctorate of philosophy are from the Medical College of Georgia, now part of Augusta University. Dr Beavers obtained a PhD in Physiology, researching blood pressure in children with a heart defect, along with her mentors Dr Greg Harshfield, PhD and Dr Bill Lutin, MD PhD. Dr Beavers entered medical school with plans to study Geriatrics, but fell in love with the science of child development - physically and cognitively. Her true nerd comes out when she has a chance to talk about the transition from 1 cell to a healthy baby, and on to a functional adult!
